Islamic History Month

This is the explanation of the theme of this years city hall display written by Zaynab Alam.

Surah 49:13

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.
Qu'ran 49:13

Diversity of faith

The left portion of the display portrays the diversity of Muslims around the world. Separated by borders, languages, and cultures; but sewn together through the thread of Islam.

Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.

The top shelf of the showcase exhibits tools that help establish this righteousness; the Five Pillars of Islam.

These prescribed practices are designed to instill strong inner peace; filling one with immense love and light to extend outward and illuminate the world.

Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing and All-Aware.

The bottom shelf contains a selection of books about Muslims found at the Edmonton Public Library.

Faith in God includes manifesting His attributes in daily life. Seeking knowledge to gain awareness helps bridge gaps accross the many differences in our world, allowing us to reach the common objective of having peace on Earth
