The ECMC is currently composed of the following member organizations:

Al-Rashid Mosque(CIC)

The Canadian Islamic Centre (CIC) also known as Al Rashid Mosque is the first mosque built in Canada. Members of CIC are from the Sunni branch of Islam and historically, this iconic institution has benefited the Muslim Community in Edmonton and the greater Edmonton Community through religious and social services. Currently, programs and services offered by CIC range from various summer camps to marriage counselling to Arabic calligraphy. 

Islamic Shia Ithna-Ashari Association (ISIA)

The Islamic Shia Ithna'asheri Association of Edmonton (ISIA) is the first mosque built in Edmonton in 1982 for followers of the Shia Ja'aferi faith, more commonly known as the Twelver sect, the largest sect of Shia Islam. Since its opening, religious functions are held on a regular basis with a fully functional Sunday school operating from the premises. Programs are held in English, with lectures every Thursday night at minimum. The centre is actively engaged in interfaith dialogue through its outreach committee, fostering relationships between Muslim communities and building bridges with the various other religious organizations.  


Shia Ismaili Muslim Community

The Shia Ismaili Muslims represent an ethnically and culturally diverse community that has become well-established in this country over the past 50 years.  United in their allegiance to their 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader), His Highness the Aga Khan, Ismailis have arrived in Canada from a number of regions, including parts of Africa, South and Central Asia, and Europe.  The Ismaili Muslim community is deeply committed and active in contributing to the communities in which they live, with a strong focus on improving quality of life.


TASNIM Society of Edmonton

TASNIM is a non-profit voluntary student group to provide cultural, religious, national, educational, recreational and non-political services to Iranian students.

Markaz ul Islam

the Markaz ul Islam Society of Edmonton has been serving the Millwoods area since 1982.  Their foundation is to present true meaning of Islam to non-Muslims, to establish an Islamic center that to provides religo-social services, family and youth programs and to promote Islamic education and values.


JRJ Mosque

Jamia Riyadhul Jannah is a community hub that offers a variety of core and auxiliary services to the south Edmonton Muslim community. It was inaugurated in August 2010 and has been operational since then, offering a safe place for worship, learning, and spiritual growth of Muslim communities.  They foster inter-faith dialogue, and spread the message of peace and connumity through the programs they offer.


Al Ameen Mosque

Al-Ameen Mosque is a community organization committed to providing a range of religious, educational, and social services for the diverse Muslim community of Edmonton. It was opened in 2001 when there was a need for a Mosque in Northeast Edmonton to cater to the growing Muslim population. Since then, we have grown from a neighbourhood Mosque into a hub for the community. With spacious prayer halls, the Mosque offers opportunities to host a range of programs and services.
