This portfolio is responsible for increasing mutual understanding, awareness and tolerance among various faiths in the society at large.
The main areas of focus of this portfolio are:
- Supporting Interfaith Events – through organizing or supporting interfaith initiatives aimed at creating better mutual understanding in matters of faith in areas such as Islamic teachings related to the pillars of Islam, cultural historical aspects of Edmonton Muslims, and responding to requests for support in such areas.
- Maintaining Relations with Interfaith Organizations – through maintaining relations with various interfaith organizations, including the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action, in maintaining ongoing communication and responding to requests to participate in interfaith conferences, seminars and other interactions.
