On October 8, 2022, Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities celebrated Alberta’s First Muslim Lieutenant Governor, Her Honour Salma Lakhani at a brunch held at the ARCA Banquet Facility. Ms. Nakita Valerio, MA, Islamic Studies delivered the Key Note Address: “Muslim Women in Leadership”.
The event helped to create an awareness within the broader community of the leadership, continuing contribution and impact (past and present) of Muslim Leaders and communities around the world, globally and locally and provided networking opportunity for attendees representing different communities within the Ummah and externally to mingle and get to know each other.
