On June 10, 2023, the Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities in partnership with the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) and His Highness the Aga Khan Ismaili Council for Edmonton celebrated Eid al-Adha at the Alberta Legislature. The event was hosted by Honorable Nathan Cooper, MLA, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The Lieutenant Governor, Her Honour Salma Lakhani, made the opening remarks for the first time this year.
